This wedding and above all, this family, will always hold a special place in my heart. This intimate Abbotsford wedding proved to be the perfect start to my wedding photography journey.
I will never forget that moment when Joanna messaged me asking if I could photograph their wedding. I felt both empowered and nervous! They wanted to plan an intimate wedding with close friends and family at a winery in Abbotsford, but Joanna refused to book until I confirmed I could work with her.
Earlier that year I met Joanna and her partner Ray, and their adorable toddler son after she had inquired about booking a family session. “Kristen! We’re getting married! I’m not booking our venue until you confirm you can photograph our wedding!” In spite of my nerves, I felt overjoyed to receive such a request. Although the prospect of shooting my first wedding had me scared out of my mind, I soaked in all the excitement that I felt.
They planned a cozy wedding with a lot of handmade details at an absolutely lovely winery in Abbotsford. A hidden gem in the heart of Abbotsford farmland, it is home to a chapel tasting room, a classy rustic barrel room, and beautiful private gardens.
This wedding was full of love, laughter, hugs, smiles, and genuinely heartfelt moments. Truly a beautiful and intimate occasion, full of all the good stuff.
